Sector: Cyber Security

Location: Central Europe

The challenge

Our client, a global leader in cyber security management, was looking to expand their team with a uniquely skilled professional, someone with deep technical expertise, proven experience in managing and developing teams, and fluency in Italian. To complicate matters further, the role needed to be based in a specific Central European location, and the global talent pool for such a profile was extremely limited.

What we delivered

We began with an in-depth briefing session to understand not only the core requirements of the role but also the nuances of team culture and leadership expectations. Given the complexity, we worked in close partnership with the hiring manager, holding regular check-ins to refine our search criteria and adapt to new insights.

Recognising the rarity of this profile, we launched a global search, filtering not just for technical capabilities, but also for Italian language skills and management experience. Early in the search, it became evident that while technical talent was available, leadership experience at the desired level was much harder to find.

We maintained ongoing dialogue with the client, exploring ways to broaden the search without compromising essential requirements. Feedback from early-stage interviews helped us refine our sourcing strategy and identify new target companies and geographies.

Outcomes

After a persistent and methodical global search, we successfully identified and secured a candidate who not only met the technical and leadership requirements but also aligned with the client’s cultural and linguistic needs. This hire was a direct result of collaborative working, flexible thinking, and a research-led approach to talent acquisition.
