The challenge

Our client, a UK based health technology business were looking to hire a specific technical role within one of their production facilities. They had struggled to find anyone with the correct blend of skills and experiences to fit within their business. They now wanted to do a much broader search, covering both the NHS and private sector.

What we delivered

We undertook a detailed briefing and looked to understand the key priorities, as well as understanding the most important aspects of the role. We then began a detailed research process, looking to find individuals with the right blend of skills. These individuals tended not to be listed on Linkedin, so the search was more about finding similar production units and understanding who was responsible for the aspect that was important to the role within these sites. This was a mix of telephone based and internet based research.

Once we had identified people that were relevant, the engagement was even more important, given the small pool of talent that was available. We carefully approached relevant talent with personalised approaches which suited their situation.

Outcomes

The search was not easy and was time consuming, given the detail that went into the research and the small talent pool available. We were able to introduce some talent, who were interviewed, but ultimately didn’t meet the requirements. However our research continued, and we were able to find a candidate who meet the brief and who was appointed into the role.
