Talent trend spotlight: Agility

In our previous talent trend spotlight we delved into Linkedin’s recent Future of Recruiting Report and focused in on one of its key predictions that will help talent professionals navigate the current and ever evolving talent landscape – quality of hire.

Here, we look at another area flagged within the report as a key talent trend theme for 2024 and something that is at the heart of our approach – agility.

The report states that 91% of recruiting pros say they are focused on being agile to adapt to hiring needs and that “agility will be a must-have for recruiting teams” as we face a turbulent talent market with the need to adapt to changing business priorities. Organisations are having to flex talent acquisition support more than ever before.

The Linkedin research found that recruiters who are able to work across multiple functions are more effective within the current talent market, as they can shift and adapt more to changing priorities. Those who specialise may be suitable for some organisations, but the ability to shift and deploy skills in multiple functions is particularly valuable when priorities are changing so fast.

Every recruiter needs to be able to be flexible and deploy into hotspots versus specialising in specific domains. We didn’t do that a year ago, two years ago, or three years ago. But it’s critical for staying agile.” Erin Scruggs, Head of Global Talent Acquisition at LinkedIn

At Luminos, being agile is a key component of what we do, getting under the skin of our client’s organisations and the people challenges they face to design bespoke talent research solutions that support their people strategies.

We provide this as a completely flexible talent acquisition service to support organisations in a whole range of different scenarios. This includes situations where they may not want to hire talent full time but might need additional capacity or capabilities to meet temporary business demands.  It also includes scenarios where clients need additional support, for example delivering confidential projects where the company brand cannot be disclosed. They may also want the option for us to work alongside their team to add engaged candidates into the talent pool for hard-to-find roles.

Our talent research and talent pooling services are fully flexible, so we can focus on the parts that will add most value to our clients in their context. This approach is highly cost effective because clients only pay for what they need, rather than committing to a staged process, not all of which may be necessary. We pride ourselves on working in partnership with our clients, so always look to complement what they have already done, working alongside their team as an extension of it.
